Trash Kat™ 20" Floor Tom

The Trash Kat, designed by Kevin Reed and manufactured by ThunderEcho Drums, is a 20"- diameter floor tom with a shell created from a 22 5/8" tall galvanized trash can, giving the instrument an urban look.  It is fitted with three legs that adjust its playing height from 24" to 33 1/2".

Also available for purchase is the Kat Knap™ sack, a soft 20" gig bag made out of heavy duty Cordura Plus fabric with an adjustable carrying strap and outside pocket for sticks.

Use the Trash Kat to augment a standard kit, as an auxiliary percussion instrument, in drum circles, march with a strap, or play as a "poor man's timpani" in an orchestra pit.

Rock musicians, street bands, Dixieland, jazz groups and more have all enjoyed the Trash Kat sound in both studio and live performances.

A favorite in schools, The Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho has been drumming the Trash Kat in most of their performances this academic year including jazz choir, marching band and orchestra pit.  The Cleveland Music School Settlement has been playing the Trash Kat in their orchestra and in assisting their clients in music therapy sessions.
